JDRC Story
John Dannreuther has been a collector for 70 years and a rare coin dealer for over 50 years. He was one of the founders of PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) and today he continues to serve as a PCGS consultant.
He is currently writing the final volume (Copper) of a 4-volume series on United States proof coins. The Nickel, Silver, and Gold volumes have been published and are available for purchase.

One will note BD numbers in auction sales that represent the Bass-Dannreuther designations for the gold issues from 1795 to 1834. JD numbers are noted for proof varieties in auction listings that represent those issues found in the 4-volume work on United States proof coins (1792-1922).
